Educational Ministries: Youth Ministries Track

OVerview
Youth Ministries is a four-year program designed to prepare graduates for productive, innovative and Christ-centered ministry to adolescents in a variety of ministry contexts through adolescent development and identity formation.
Program Learning Outcomes
In addition to meeting the Bible & Theology outcomes the student will acquire proficiency in the following:
- MODEL: Consistent modeling of Gospel transformation through personal devotion, obedience and life-style reflecting Kingdom living.
- EQUIP: Equip students for ministry in various contexts to different demographics and culture groups.
- CONTEXTUALIZE: The integration of a sound understanding of Bible and Theology in ministry to effectively reach a target audience within their specific context.
- NURTURE: Exercising care in nurturing faith ownership and service through evangelism and discipleship by intentional relationships and informed pastoral counseling.
- CONSTRUCT: Creating ministry (Christian Education) opportunities, programs and activities that promote faith development and spiritual formation in others.
- LEAD: Influencing and empowering others through servant leadership to encourage Christ-likeness and mobilization for ministry.
Program Admission
- Complete the freshman year at Emmaus with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
- Declare intent to pursue a major in Educational Ministries: Youth Ministries Track.
- At the beginning of the sophomore year, apply for entrance into the Youth Ministries program. The application procedure includes completion of a formal application and a reference form from a church leader at the student’s home church.
- During the fall semester of the junior year, make application for the Youth Ministries internship program.
- Pay all applicable fees for this major as determined by the Business office and published in the annual statement of fees.
Program Requirements
- Complete a minimum of 127.5 semester credit hours.
- A 2.0 cumulative grade point average and a passing grade in all required courses.
- At least 60 semester credit hours must be earned at Emmaus.
- Complete the general graduation requirements listed in the Academic Life section of the catalog.

The youth ministry program at Emmaus Bible College is characterized by a genuine love for students, a firm commitment to teaching, and a strong desire to equip students with the necessary tools for ministry. Being a graduate of Emmaus Bible College's youth ministry program, I am equipped to communicate the Word to students in a way that is relevant to them, and to implement programs that are both theologically sound and developmentally appropriate.
