Accreditation affirms the quality of higher education institutions. Accrediting organizations regularly examine universitys and universities in light of established standards for the purposes of quality assurance and quality improvement.
Higher Learning Commission
Emmaus University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The Higher Learning Commission is one of six regional accreditors in the U.S. The Higher Learning Commission accredits universitys and universities in a 19-state region including the State of Iowa. Regional accreditation is the most universally-recognized form of accreditation in the U.S. www.hlcommision.org
Association for Biblical Higher Education
Emmaus University is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education Commission on Accreditation (5850 T.G. Lee Blvd., Ste. 130, Orlando, FL 32822, 407.207.0808) to grant certificates and degrees at the Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master levels.
Emmaus University in Dubuque, Iowa, will be hosting a comprehensive accreditation visit by a team of evaluators from the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) from April 20-23, 2026, to determine its compliance with the standards for accreditation.
During the visit, representatives of the ABHE team will entertain comments from the public. State of Iowa Department of Education
Emmaus Teacher Education (K-8 and 5-12) and Music Education (K-12) programs are approved by the State of Iowa for teacher licensure. Successful program graduates are eligible to be recommended for an Iowa Teachers’ License. www.boee.iowa.gov
