Residence Life Information

Residence Halls
Our residence hall rooms are equipped with a bed, dresser, desk, chair and bookcase. Many rooms also have a sink and medicine cabinet. Rooms are equipped with internet access – both wired and WIFI. We do not offer linen service, so bring your own pillow, sheets and blankets. You are encouraged to bring along items that will make your room feel like home. If you bring furniture for your room, please do not bring anything that has been purchased second hand. Electric blankets, coffee pots, “dorm” sized refrigerators and microwaves are nice to have. You can also bring a small TV. Other appliances such as space heaters and hot plates are not permitted. Electrical outlets are always in demand; you are welcome to bring fused power strips but we do not allow extension cords in the dorm rooms. As you make plans for your decorations, be sure to come prepared to use only removable 3M command strips or white sticky tack for hanging things on the wall. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to bring your cat or dog with you to Emmaus, but if you need a pet, a fish is a great option.

Curfew
On school nights (Sunday night through Thursday night), curfew begins at 1:00 am. On the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights), curfew begins at 2:00 am. Curfew ends each morning at 6:00 am. During these hours, students are asked to be on a residence hall of their gender. Students who are at least 21 years old or who are seniors are exempt from curfew.

Laundry on Campus
Emmaus has a laundry room located on the ground floor of the Residence Halls in the main building. The washing machines and dryers are available at no charge for resident students.
