Road to Emmaus
From the President's Desk
May 2025
Emmaus University is filled with blessings and on a positive trajectory! I’d love to tell you a bit more about my own road to Emmaus, share a few encouraging updates, and ask you to continue to pray and provide support for student scholarships through the Emmaus Fund.
I was introduced to Emmaus two decades ago when a counselor at my son’s Bible camp suggested he learn more about the college. After a bit of research, Andrew knew that Emmaus would be the perfect way to begin his college career.
During his time here, my wife Evelyn and I were impressed by the rigor of the education Andrew received while being comforted by the care and concern faculty and staff showed him. We wanted to be a bigger part of this special place, and God eventually led us from Delaware to Dubuque. We continue to be impressed how God is working among students on campus year by year, and through our graduates all over the world.
God, through faculty, staff, and students, is leading a resurgence at Emmaus. We are seeing healthy growth in student counts once again, both on campus and through the launch of our new graduate program — our Master’s degree in Bible and Ministries offered online through Emmaus University Global.
God is leading students to Emmaus who want to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. They want to learn in a Christ-centered environment where the foundations of Scripture are emphasized. Please pray for Emmaus and consider supporting students who are preparing to serve our Lord.
With the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,
Philip Boom, PhD
President
