Emmaus.edu Privacy Policy

The primary reason we collect personal information is to provide quality content and services. Several services and products we offer require you to provide us with information as a condition for receiving said services and/or products.

We collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, postal address, phone number, and credit card information when required. We may at times on forms such as an admissions application collect other sensitive information such as your gender, social security number, and/or parental information.

Emmaus.edu uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol to encrypt the transfer of confidential information obtained by forms on this site. These forms can be identified by the address starting with “https:” instead of “http:”.

Your Internet browser has a feature called cookies, which stores small amounts of data on your computer about your visit to any of our sites. You do not need to have cookies turned on to visit most of our site, although active participation in certain areas of our site may require cookies. Cookies alone tell us nothing about who you are. By adjusting your settings on your browser, you may elect not to allow cookies to be collected.

We use cookies in a variety of ways, including:

1. Keeping count of return visits to our site
2. Accumulating and reporting anonymous, aggregate (data collected in mass), statistical information on website usage
3. Allowing third-party cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect or receive information from emmaus.edu and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads (you can opt-out of the collection and use of such information for ad targeting at any time).

We use the information we gather to enhance the user experience on our site. We use tracking information to determine how well each page performs overall based on aggregate user demographics and traffic patterns to those pages. This helps us continue to build a better site for you.

Information required for University admission is used to validate your request and process your admission application. Your information is never shared with third parties. We use your information to keep you aware of current news and offerings from the University and to assist you with the admissions and academic process.

If the information you shared included credit card information for a purchase, this information must be released to the card-issuing bank to confirm payment and your address information to the delivery service to deliver products that you have ordered.

Emmaus.edu may release account information when we believe, in good faith, that such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with the law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our user agreements, or (iii) protect the rights, property, or safety of emmaus.edu, our customers, or others. Emmaus.edu may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personally identifiable information to the appropriate governmental authorities. We will disclose personally identifiable information upon receipt of court order, subpoena, or in cooperation with a law enforcement investigation. Emmaus.edu fully cooperates with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our services for illegal activities and reserves the right to report any activities that we in good faith believe to be unlawful.

In some cases we allow third parties to use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect or receive information from emmaus.edu and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads (you can opt-out of the collection and use of such information for ad targeting at any time).

We have also implemented Google Analytics Advertising features, including: remarketing with Google Analytics, Google Display Network Impression Reporting, Google Analytics Demographics and Interest Reporting, as well as other Integrated services that require Google Analytics to collect data for advertising purposes, including the collection of data via advertising cookies and identifiers. You can opt out of these features here.

Any modifications to our privacy practices will be reflected first within this area. If there is a material change in our privacy practices, we will indicate on our sites that our privacy practices have changed and provide a link to the new privacy statement. If we are going to be using the information collected from users in a manner materially different from that stated at the time of collection, we will send affected users written notice of the change by email.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

SMS/MMS Consent and Terms 

By providing your mobile phone number to Emmaus University, you consent to receive periodic SMS or MMS messages from us. These messages may include important updates, information, and other communications related to our products and services. 

Providing Your Telephone Number and Notification Obligations 

You affirm that the mobile number you have provided to us is accurate and current. You represent that you are the authorized subscriber or owner of any telephone number you provide. If there are any changes to your contact information, including changes to your telephone numbers, you agree to notify us immediately by sending an email to "your email" prior to the effect of the change. 

Consent to Receive Automated Communications 

By voluntarily providing your telephone number(s), you explicitly consent to receive recurring automated and not automated text messages from Emmaus University regarding our products, services, and your relationship with us. You acknowledge that consent to receive these messages is not a condition of purchase. Standard message and data rates may apply. 

Opt-Out Instructions 

To unsubscribe from our SMS/MMS messages at any time, you can text STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT in response to any message you receive from us. Additionally, you can send an email to info@emmaus.edu specifying that you wish to opt out of text messages. You agree to receive a final message confirming your opt-out.

Carrier Participation 

Participating carriers in the United States include AT&T, T-Mobile®, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, U.S. Cellular®, MetroPCS®, InterOp, Cellcom, C Spire Wireless, Cricket, Virgin Mobile, among others. Not all carriers may support our SMS/MMS service. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. 

Data Collection and Use

In connection with this SMS service, we may collect your mobile phone number, carrier’s name, and the date, time, and content of your messages, among other information you provide. This information may be used to contact you and to deliver the services you have requested from us. 

Service Modifications and Termination 

By subscribing or using the service, you acknowledge our right to modify or discontinue the service, with or without notice, at any time. 

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify "your company name" against any claims, including privacy, tort, or others, arising from your voluntary provision of a telephone number not owned by you, failure to notify us of changes in your telephone number, or related to the Federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act or state law equivalents. You agree to defend and hold us harmless from any claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from such issues. 

Participation Requirements

By participating in this Service, you affirm that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age, possess a wireless device capable of two-way messaging, are a customer of a participating wireless carrier, and have a text messaging service. Compatibility of cell phone models with the service, text messaging capabilities, and service availability may vary by carrier.

Miscellaneous

You warrant and represent that you possess all necessary rights, powers, and authority to agree to these terms and perform your obligations hereunder, and that doing so does not conflict with any other agreement to which you are bound. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
