From the Field to the Future

Preparing Missionary Kids for What's Next

Overview

From the Field to the Future is an initiative designed to support missionary family students as they transition from life on the mission field into college and adulthood. Rooted in a heart for missions and built on a trusted partnership, the program provides intentional spiritual care, academic preparation, and community so parents can remain engaged on the field while their students are grounded and prepared for what lies ahead.

A Message From John

Executive Director, CMML

As a missionary family child myself, I understand firsthand the unique challenges of transitioning from the mission field back to the United States for college. That season can be both exciting and unsettling. One of the Lord’s greatest blessings in my own journey was the opportunity to attend a biblically faithful college and become part of a strong local assembly. Through the faithful encouragement of believers around me, I grew spiritually, adjusted culturally, and began to discern the path the Lord was setting before me. It is our desire to walk alongside missionary families during this important season. We recognize the weight parents carry as they seek to remain fully engaged in the work God has entrusted to them while also ensuring their children are spiritually grounded and well cared for. Our prayer is that this initiative will provide a trusted environment where missionary family students can thrive, rooted in God’s Word, supported in community, and prepared for the future. May the Lord use this effort to help many missionary family students move confidently into their next chapter of serving Him.

The intention of this partnership is to allow missionary families to send their students to Emmaus University with minimal financial burden. By combining the Emmaus University Founders Grant and other Emmaus scholarships, a scholarship from CMML, and student employment opportunities, we are able to accomplish that goal.

Student Testimonial

"Since coming to Emmaus last fall, I have grown so much academically, spiritually, and relationally. Whether in Bible, General Education, or major-specific classes, my professors challenge me to take God’s Word seriously, love Him wholeheartedly, and serve others selflessly. I have made several close friends who I can laugh with, talk about almost anything with, pray, serve, and study with, and just be there for each other. It is really hard to believe we’ve only been here for a total of 5 months, and I look forward to what God will do in the coming years!"
