Housing

Housing

One of the best parts of college is the experiences you'll have while living on the dorms, and that's no exception here at Emmaus!

Nearly all of our dormitories are single rooms, with the exception of two- to four-person suites available in Smith Hall.  Each single room is outfitted with a bed, desk, desk chair, dresser, sink, and medicine cabinet, as well as a closet and room for storage above the closet (click here for the dimensions of our single rooms).  In Smith Hall, suites are equipped with beds, dressers, desks, desk chairs, and closets. Smith Hall suites are air conditioned, as well as each dorm room/suite has its own heating register and window.

Each hall has a common restroom facility including individual showers, toilets, and sinks. In addition to this, we have a fully-equipped, non coin operated laundry facility that is available for resident use.

Check out our virtual tour to see the dorms (and the rest of the campus) for yourself!

Emmaus Bible College is by design a historic residential college. As such, Emmaus desires to help form and educate the student both in and out of the classroom. While much learning happens within the classroom experience, it is the desire of the College for each of its students to learn personal accountability, develop lifelong relationships, and understand proper standards of living within a community. We believe that students living and learning together offers the best atmosphere and incubator of learning. Therefore, Emmaus requires all full-time (12 credits for more) students to live in the residence halls. Exceptions to this policy are:

  • Married students
  • Students living with parents, grandparents, or legal guardian.
  • Students 24 years old or older prior to the start of the semester
  • Students who are entering their 5th year in the Emmaus residence halls but are not yet 24 may apply for an exemption to the housing policy.

The College reserves the right to remove a student from college housing or relocate a student within college housing for unforeseen emergencies or due to behavioral concerns. Access to other college-owned facilities may also be restricted. Examples of behavior that could result in such removal or restrictions would be disruptive, rude, or threatening behavior or destruction of community/College property, and other violations of the Emmaus Student Handbook. The parents of the student may be notified of the student’s status.

Only students who are enrolled may live in the residence halls. Additionally, students enrolled but not attending classes may be asked to vacate the residence halls.

If you desire to have a loft, please be prepared to supply your own as well as all necessary tools and man power for the set up and tear down. There will be a $50 fee assessed to your student account for the removal of the school's existing furniture and storage. If you are planning to bring a loft please email Hannah Leavitt at hleavitt@emmaus.edu to have your room prepared upon your arrival.
