Dear Emmaus Parents:
Hello from Emmaus Bible College, with the end of our spring semester just around the corner, I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight a few end-of-the-year events that we trust you’ll be able to attend.
First, on Friday, May 6th, 2016 at 7:30 PM, the Emmaus Bible College Baccalaureate Ceremony will takeplace in the Emmaus Marble Chapel. This special event is designed to honor our graduates with outstanding achievement and academic merit. It is also a time to exhort and charge the graduating seniors from scripture before they receive their degrees and leave campus as alumnus/ae. Please plan to join us as we say “well done” to this year’s graduates.
Prior to the Baccalaureate Ceremony, you are invited to a special hors d'oeuvres reception to be held in our dining hall at 5:30 PM. This is an enjoyable time for students and their family to mix and mingle with Emmaus faculty, staff, and friends. This reception is free of charge for current full-time resident students, and all 2016 Emmaus graduates. There is a small charge of $10.00 for each family member or friend who will be attending ($5.00 for children 4-12 and 3 and under are free). Tickets do not need to be purchased in advance, but for planning purposes, we do ask that you RSVP no later than April 29th. Tickets may be purchased at any time from our front desk receptionist. You may RSVP in the following ways:
The 69th Commencement of Emmaus Bible College will be held on Saturday, May 7th, at 10:30 AM in the Emmaus Marble Chapel. Doors will open at 9:30 am. This event is open to all family members and friends. We are happy to have friend of the college and alumnus Mr. Aaron Telecky as our commencement speaker this year. Aaron serves as the Pastor of Maranatha Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, IA. He and his wife, Beth met at Emmaus Bible College where he earned a degree in Pastoral Theology. They are proud parents of six great kids two of which are current Emmaus students, Alyssa and Luke. Please plan to join us in celebrating with our graduates on the successful culmination of their Emmaus studies (including Certificate, Associates, and Bachelor’s degree students).
For your planning purposes, please be aware that breakfast on May 7th will be the last meal provided for resident students. There will be no lunch following Commencement ceremonies.
If you have any additional questions regarding the Commencement weekend events, please don’t hesitate to ask. You can reach Becky Kraus at firstname.lastname@example.org or (563) 588-8000.
