Overview

Digital Marketing is a four-year program designed to provide graduates with the key skills most needed by marketing coordinators and managers. The program is intended to produce “growth hackers.” Offered in partnership with the LCMC/Rize Consortium, the program integrates business and marketing principles and practice rooted in a biblical worldview, thus preparing graduates to operate effectively in commercial and non-profit settings.

Student Learning Goals
  1. Develop an understanding of fundamental business principles.
  2. Acquire the skills and dispositions needed to enable sound business practices.
  3. Develop awareness of current business issues and trends and how to effectively operate in a global and changing environment.
  4. Develop a philosophy of business that incorporates a biblical worldview.
  5. Evidence the ability to operate as business professionals in a variety of settings—commercial, non-profit ministry, and cross-cultural.
Program Learning Outcomes

In addition to meeting the Bible/Theology major outcomes, the student will:

  1. Demonstrate foundational knowledge in functional areas of business.
  2. Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team situation.
  3. Demonstrate communication skills in a professional context.
  4. Demonstrate use of critical thinking skills in a business and organizational context.
  5. The ability to integrate biblical concepts with business knowledge and practice.

Specific to Digital Marketing coursework, the student will demonstrate:

  1. The ability to understand and articulate the role of various web-based marketing channels within the context of the larger marketing mix.
  2. The ability to evaluate marketing opportunities.
  3. The ability to design and implement a marketing campaign and analyze its success or failure.
  4. Advanced skill in the composition of compelling B2B and B2C marketing copy as deployed through a variety of channels.
  5. Elementary skill in the creation of visual content for social media and other web-based marketing channels.
  6. The ability to design and implement effective marketing content.
  7. The ability to contextualize any individual marketing campaign within a company’s broader marketing strategy, and evaluate the success or failure of that strategy.
  8. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills within the domain of marketing.
  9. The ability to express marketing solutions clearly to a larger team using effective written and oral communication.
  10. Understanding of what drives human interaction with content.
Program Admission
  1. Complete the freshman year at Emmaus with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
  2. Declare intent to pursue a major in Digital Marketing.
  3. At the beginning of the sophomore year, apply for entrance into the Digital Marketing program.
  4. Pay all applicable fees for this major as determined by the Business office and published in the annual statement of fees.
  5. The Business program will consider up to 18 transfer credits in business, subject to review of grades and course descriptions. The following courses must be taken at Emmaus:
