  • Facilities Manager at Sandy Creek Bible Camp in Texas

    Sandy Creek Bible Camp has a ministry opening for a full time salaried Facilities Manager and is seeking to fill the position with a qualified, gifted candidate as led by the Lord to serve in this ministry need.

    The purpose of Sandy Creek Bible Camp is to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children and adults while in a relaxed, rural setting. The camp provides opportunities for Christian growth, fellowship, and service for those who attend and staff the camp, primarily through work with churches, hosting men’s and women’s retreats, weekend retreats, and weeklong youth camps during the summer.

    We are located approximately 75 miles northwest of Houston, 7 miles northeast of Brenham, and just outside of Washington, Texas.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The primary responsibilities of the Facilities Manager are to maintain and/or renovate and remodel the facilities, grounds, and equipment of the camp. The Facilities Manager will be asked to help in other areas of the camp program as needed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare financial budgets for maintenance activities.
    • Ensure that all facilities are properly maintained, including repairs and/or replacement of any damaged or broken equipment, fixtures, etc.
    • Develop and execute a preventive maintenance program for all buildings, equipment and vehicles.
    • Maintain all buildings and grounds to ensure a safe and attractive environment for guests. Oversee and coordinate turnover (cleaning of camp buildings) before and after each camp or retreat.
    • Ensure that all HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems are properly maintained and recommend replacement, as required, to the Executive Director.
    • Plan and oversee renovation and refurbishment of current facilities in an expedient manner, ensuring that all systems are installed to industry standards.
    • Supervise temporary staff as assigned by the Executive Director.
    • Develop work scopes and coordinate all construction and maintenance volunteers for work days and special work projects or activities, and see that they are given proper instructions and furnished with required tools and materials.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Has a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Demonstrates personal faith throughconsistent daily living in accordance to God’s Word. Is in agreement with the SCBC Doctrinal Statement (see camp website www.sandycreek.org under Purpose & History).
    • Understands and is committed to the mission of SCBC.
    • Possesses good managerial and interpersonal skills, is self-directed, flexible, reliable, creative and good communicator.
    • Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities.
    • Preferably has 5 years’ experience in maintenance and/or construction responsibilities.
    • Maintains a professional appearance

    TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE

    During the summer, the work schedule is generally 12 hours per day and on call for the balance for urgent needs. During the rest of the year a full time schedule (40+ hours a week) is expected, including weekends when guest groups are on site. As the seasonal guest group activity expands, a longer six-day workweek can occasionally be anticipated. The Executive Director will coordinate schedules with other staff and volunteers to build in family and vacation time.

    SALARY, HOUSING, AND BENEFITS

    Because of the unique circumstances of camp ministry, Sandy Creek requires that the Facilities Manager reside on-site year round.

  • Children’s Ministry Director Position at Maranatha Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, IA

    Job Description: Provide leadership and direction to a Christ-centered children’s ministry in order to impact children and their families for Christ.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Lead and facilitate the current Children’s Ministry. Provide an environment for training in the Word, discipleship, worship, and fellowship. Recognize opportunities for new ministry within the church and community.
    • Develop a volunteer base into a deeply committed and enthusiastic group of leaders who teach biblical truth and pour into the lives of children.

    Specific Functions:

    Oversee all programming and ministry for children preschool through 6th grade, including Sunday School,Children’s Church, and Vacation Bible School.

    Qualifications and experience:

    • Testimony - Acknowledge Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, and demonstrate personal maturity in Christian living.
    • Member - Be a fully-supportive member and promoter of Maranatha’s statement of faith, vision and philosophy of ministry.
    • Education – Bachelor’s degree (preferred), in education, biblical studies or appropriate field of study related to children’s ministry.
    • Work experience – Experience leading a church-based children’s ministry preferred. Experience in a mid-size church ministry a plus.
    • Leader – Effective leader and self-driven motivator to build a solid volunteer team.
    • Team Player – Must display the ability to be a team player, and yet be able to work independently.
    • Communication skills – A pleasant and helpful demeanor, as well as the ability to clearly communicate to volunteers, children, and parents in a manner that is engaging, courteous and professional.

  • Administrator at Light Haven Christian Home in Ontario, Canada

    At Light Haven we have celebrated over 30 years of God’s faithfulness, and we continue to seek His guidance as we serve the Lord in our local community. We have deep historical roots to Emmaus Bible College, as two of our founding charter members (Jean Young and Paul Flint) taught for many years at the Chicago location of the school, and several other founding charter members: Arnold Spears, Chester Donaldson and Evelyn Miller (nee Taylor) and current and former directors on the Board are Emmaus alumnae.

    Light Haven is a Christian retirement home in Northern Ontario, located 40 miles east of Sault Ste. Marie on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron. It opened its doors in 1981 after three years of construction by volunteer workers and with the financial and prayerful support of many individuals and assemblies. For more than 30 years Light Haven has been able to provide comfortable, home-like retirement living for elderly people in a Christian environment. Many of our residents have come to know the Lord in the sunset years of their life.

    As we look ahead, we seek the Lord’s continuing direction on all aspects of the Home’s operations and the ministry to seniors in the North. Of the many items requiring prayer, our most immediate need is for a new Administrator to manage the Home. We have been blessed with the involvement of many Christians over the years, many of whom continue to be actively involved on a volunteer basis. We are thankful for their faithfulness and for the many ways in which they continue to assist Light Haven in meeting the challenges that exist.

    The role of Administrator would be ideally suited to a Christian couple who are in fellowship with their local assembly, have a heart for service and Christian ministry particularly involving seniors, and some leadership or managerial skills or experience. Some health care or nursing experience would be an asset, but not required. The financial and reporting aspects are managed by a bookkeeper, so although oversight of those aspects of the Home’s operations would be involved, they will be assisted by a very capable bookkeeper.

  • Pastor Position Open in Central Nebraska

    Due to the retirement of our present pastor the end of December 2014 there is an opening for a pastor to serve two small independent churches, Burr Oak Church and Miller Christian Church, in central Nebraska.

    Burr Oak Church is a small rural independent Bible church located 20 miles south of Broken Bow. Miller Christian Church is also an independent Bible church located in the town of Miller. The two churches are located northwest of Kearney, Nebraska. Both churches have active youth groups, vacation Bible school, host community outreach activities, and are involved with Homeward Trail Bible Camp located in Mason City, Nebraska. The Miller church also has a Kids for Christ outreach through the fall and winter months.

    A large modern rural home is available. The home is located midway between the two churches.

  • Senior Pastor Position at Emmanuel Bible Church in Smithville, MO

    Emmanuel Bible Church is looking for a Senior Pastor. We are an independent Bible church started in 1975 by an IFCA Int. member Rev. Justin Dix of four acres. IFCA Int. member George St. Germain is our former pastor having served since January 2008. During his time we’ve made nearly $200,000 in upgrades to the facility. The constitution and bylaws of the church are updated and available for preview. The church presently has approximately 60 people who attend Sunday morning. The Awana and youth programs have about 20 youth and growing. We have a small group that meets for prayer each Wednesday night. The church is able to support a full-time pastor and family. The church organizes a community wide softball league and has two volleyball teams. The church is well-balanced with age groups. The Sunday morning worship service ministers with a blended music program of contemporary songs and hymns. We baptized 9 people on Christmas Sunday in 2013. We rejoice over many that have come to Christ as Savior over the last few years. The church has a Facebook page and a website at www.ebcsmo.org which provides information about its activities.
