Church Planter at Keystone Church in Marion, Iowa

Posted by Jesse Fullan on February 13, 2013 @ 4:30 PM

About the position

The candidate we are looking for will need to meet the biblical qualifications for an elder as outlined in the letters to Timothy and Titus. The candidate will have a church planter’s ‘DNA’ with core values on relationship building, evangelism, and church planting. The candidate must be in full agreement with The Fellowship of Berean Church’s statement of faith, ‘pass’ the Berean Church Planter’s assessment, and attend the Berean boot camp for church-planters April 7-10. Preference will be given to candidates who are not ‘specialists’ but rather; who can play guitar, are married, has demonstrated creativity that accomplishes, and can do a several aspects of ministry.

We will do EVERYTHING possible to help the candidate succeed. We are small and can’t afford a salary just yet, but we can pay for relocation, pay for helping the candidate raise financial support, help with housing, help in finding employment, etc. This will be a full time paid position at some point.

About Keystone Church

We are a core group of nearly 30 in various stages of planting Keystone Church. We have a wonderful facility, a children’s ministry, and we’re working towards a launch date of Mother’s Day weekend. What started out in a home with just four families has grown to the point of needing a church planter. We seem to attract young families, we enjoy contemporary worship, [yet we have regard for some hymns] we’re new so we don’t have any traditions or ‘sacred cows’ [yet we desire an identity in the community] and we’re steadfast on expository preaching.

About Marion, Iowa

We are planting Keystone Church in Marion, one half block from the city square, 631 9th Street. Marion has a population of 32,868 and the city is located just northeast of Cedar Rapids, IA (about 7 minutes from downtown Cedar Rapids).

The neighborhoods surrounding the city square are full of life. Many people enjoy downtown and the unique shops and ‘original’ eateries attract young couples and families. Places such as Zoey’s Pizza and Witte’s End (a coffeehouse) are frequented by young dinks and those just starting families. In addition, the city of Marion uses the square park to host various concerts, arts festivals, and community entertainment each and every Thursday evening from May to October.

About The Berean Church Fellowship

The BFC is an association of interdependent, self-governing and self-supporting churches, with a common mission, doctrinal basis, and conservative theological values. We are approximately 70 churches and church-plants in 11 states, from California to Tennessee and from Canada to Southern Colorado. We are also invested in international church planting. The BFC promotes evangelism and discipleship in local communities and throughout the world. These are motivational values that are central to our identity (who we are) and our mission (what we do).

YOUTH INTERNSHIP AT CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CHURCH, LA CROSSE, WI

Posted by Jesse Fullan on April 11, 2012 @ 10:45 AM

Cornerstone Community Church, La Crosse, WI
www.cornerstonelacrosse.org

We are a young church part of Converge Worldwide, with about 150 weekly attenders at our downtown location. As a young church (average age about 32) we have a small but fast growing Jr High group (we do NOT have anything for High School students). We are looking for an intern with interests and experience in youth ministry to come along side our volunteer team of adults, to build out the foundation for a viable and sustainable youth ministry.

We are looking for a person with drive, initiative and love for youth. We will provide room and board, regular mentoring with our experienced pastoral staff team (both Associate and lead pastor have strong young ministry background to encourage), and mentoring relationship with one of our gifted leadership overseers/elders. We are open to either a male or female Intern, as we also have male and female leaders on our Overseer's Team.

We will be providing a modest salary for the summer months (TBD) but you will find in Cornerstone a very committed community of Believers that don't just talk about reaching others...we live it! We have a vibrant Sunday culture, have the 2nd largest Food and Clothing Bank in the area (open every Thursday) and a plan to reach our local community and the world.

Most of the Junior High youth have committed parent leaders who will assist in any way possible, and a team to back you up. This is not a role for someone who loves and needs hand-holding to thrive, but someone with drive and initiative, who needs peers around to grow as a better leader through the relationships and mentoring we will provide.

Looking for someone to start in May if possible, but timing is flexible for the right person or persons.

Apply in complete confidence today. Please email resume and include a brief cover letter to explain why you may be well suited for this ministry and why you are interested in it.

American Missionary Fellowship job opening (posted 3/11)

Posted by Jesse Fullan on January 27, 2012 @ 10:04 AM

Do you love God and see His grace at work in your life? Do you want a job that matters?

We need an architect — not to design buildings, but to design communities that transform their surroundings with the love and hope of Jesus Christ. We are an established mission of people who love God and want to see the lives of people in the United States changed by the message of His Word. We envision teams of apprentice missionaries, led by experienced mentor missionaries, living for three to four years among the people they serve. We need someone (you?) to create a blueprint to make this vision a reality.

For more than two hundred years, we have been teaching unchanging truth in our changing culture. Please browse our website and see who we are, but know that we are actively finding new ways including an upcoming name change to reach the next generation of Americans. Go to amfmission.org/jobs to watch the video and read the job description. If you believe you can get our apprenticeships started, introduce yourself! Contact us at ridge.b@amfmission.org.
