What should I wear to Running Start?

You’re welcome to dress casually for this event! Iowa’s weather during the month of April can include real highs and lows in temperature. Our main building is not air-conditioned, so you’ll want to dress accordingly.

Where should I stay?
Dubuque has a number of hotels for you to choose from. Several hotels near the college provide discounts for families visiting Emmaus:
  • Holiday Inn Express: 2080 Holliday Drive, 563.556.4600 $89/night
  • Mainstay Suites: 1275 Associates Drive, 563.557.7829 $59/night
Be sure to call the local number listed above and mention that you are visiting Emmaus Bible College.

Is there a cost for Running Start?
The Running Start experience is free of charge for you and your parents. We’re glad to provide you with refreshments in the morning and treat you to lunch in our dining hall.

What should I bring?
You’ll want to bring any final paperwork related to your enrollment at Emmaus. For example, if you have not yet sent in your acceptance packet papers by the time Running Start begins, you’ll want to bring those forms with you. You may also want to bring a camera, to take pictures of your new home and new friends.

What if I’m unable to attend Running Start on April 26?
For those who are unable to attend the on-campus Running Start event on April 26 due to timing or distance, you have the opportunity to register for your fall semester classes on Saturday, June 20. This will take place over the phone with an academic advisor. You can learn more and sign up at www.emmaus.edu/june20.
