Bachelor of Science in Bible/Theology and Music Education (K-12)
The Music Education program is a five-year program of study leading to a double major in Bible and Theology and Music Education (K-12) with an emphasis in General/Vocal Music. The program includes study in four academic areas: Bible and Theology, general education, music, and professional studies. Upon successful completion of the degree program, the student is eligible for teaching endorsements for Music Grades K-12 (or K-8 and 5-12) from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners and teacher certification from Association of Christian Schools International. PERFORMANCE CONCENTRATION
This four-year program is a double major in Bible and Music with a performance concentration in piano or voice. The degree is designed to give music majors more hours devoted to private instruction, performance skills, and coursework in preparation for opening a private studio or attending graduate school. Music with Elective Studies in Business is a four-year program with a double major in Bible and Music. The combination of a music major with elective studies in business is intended to give music majors experience in an outside field with potential for work or graduate studies in arts administration. The program includes intensive study in three academic areas: Bible and theology, general education, and music. The elective studies include five courses in the area of business. Music with Elective Studies in Counseling Psychology is a four-year program with a double major in Bible and Music. The combination of a music major with elective studies in counseling psychology is designed to give music majors some of the pre-requisites necessary to pursue graduate work in music therapy.
