An exciting component of intercultural formation at Emmaus is the overseas semester-long internship. The goal of internships is to translate classroom instruction into field experience under the supervision of a qualified and experienced mentor. Our students have gone to all corners of the world to fulfill their internship. Student Missionary Fellowship is a student-led organization that promotes a passion for missions at our campus. Activities include ministry presentations by students and by visiting missionaries, special days of prayer for the persecuted church, and more.
Summex is a long tradition at Emmaus. For years the college has organized these faculty-led globe-trotting trips with one goal: contextual discovery of missions. During these trips we meet and learn from missionaries on location: how the Lord is bringing people to Himself throughout the world and see their strategies in real-time. We explore the local culture and customs, work at learning the language, make friends, and serve in meaningful ways as directed by the local leadership.
