Educational Ministries Faculty Position

Emmaus Bible College is seeking applicants for a faculty position in our Educational Ministries Department beginning August 2014. The Educational Ministries Department at Emmaus offers two programs of study—a Youth Ministries major/minor and a Camp Ministries major. We are seeking candidates for the position with the following qualifications (in no particular order):

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Holds a minimum of a master’s degree in Christian Education, Educational Ministries or Youth Ministry
  • Has a minimum of five years of ministry and/or teaching experience in a full-time capacity in the areas of youth ministry, camping ministry, discipleship, pastoral counseling, family ministry and/or Christian education 
  • Commitment to ongoing training and education in the field of educational ministries
  • Additional (desired, but not required):
    • Experience teaching undergraduate learners
    • Experience in children’s ministry
    • Experience leading short-term missions with teens.
    • Experience in youth ministry in a multi-cultural context.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Dispositions:

  • Born-again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Demonstrated personal Christian character
  • Agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of Emmaus Bible College
  • Commitment to the Mission, Core Values and Institutional Goals of Emmaus Bible College
  • Keen understanding of modern youth culture and social technology  
  • Commitment to pastoral ministry and discipleship
  • Keen understanding of adolescent development in the areas of sociology and Christian faith development
  • Ability to integrate Bible doctrine with educational ministry philosophy and programming 
  • Ability to effectively communicate biblical and ministry concepts to undergraduate learners
  • Commitment to New Testament principles in church life and practice   
  • Understanding of and support for Plymouth Brethren distinctives
  • Additional (desired, but not required):
    • Ability to lead music for praise/worship and mentor developing musicians
    • Administration in a ministry context
    • Possess basic graphic design skills for improved communication with youth
